ABOUT CEREBRUM

At the age of 16, I committed myself to a mission: to provide hope and support to suicidal teens. This mission evolved into a clear vision by the time I was 20, aiming to create an effective program dedicated to youth development. Recognizing that a vision alone was insufficient, I pursued extensive education and practical experience to bring this vision to fruition.

I hold both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Social Work, and I am a co-author of published research. My professional journey includes an internship with the Texas Governor’s Office on the Child Sex Trafficking Team and two years of experience as a therapist working with youth. Today, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am proud to introduce Cerebrum, a youth development program born from my enduring mission.

Cerebrum aspires to be one of the most effective youth development programs available. Our approach is grounded in science, utilizing evidence-based methods that have consistently demonstrated their efficacy in fostering positive change. These methods form the backbone of our program, ensuring that our interventions are both reliable and impactful.

However, effectiveness extends beyond scientific methods. The success of our program hinges on youth participation. Without engagement, even the most well-designed program cannot achieve its goals. Therefore, at Cerebrum, we prioritize making development enjoyable. We leverage our creativity to design brain-stimulating activities that are both fun and rooted in evidence-based practices.

To further enhance the experience, we incorporate humor into our program. Humor helps normalize the feelings, thoughts, memories, and behaviors that often lead youth to feel isolated or ashamed. By addressing these issues with a lighthearted approach, we encourage youth to take the necessary steps toward becoming their best selves. Our logo, "Cerebrum Sane," reflects this philosophy, playfully addressing common concerns about sanity and mental health. At Cerebrum, we embrace the motto #staysane.
